The Maharashtra Dhol was played in war preparations to inspire soldiers, after war to mark triumph and bravery, and in festivals to make people dance on its beats.

Dhol Tasha
The Maharashtra Dhol – a large wooden barrel with leather stretched on both ends – creates deep, resonating vibrations. Paired with the Tasha, a sharp piercing trumpet, the rhythm is hypnotic and energetic.
Traditionally played in war preparations and festivals.
Lezim
A foot‑long stick with metal straps – when played in synchronisation, it creates a beautiful chime sound. It's not music… it's a dance form!
